How it works
From "send me your documents" to file-ready
Every matter needs roughly the same thing: a pile of documents from a client, cross-checked against what's actually required, then drafted into something you can review and file. Legal Beagle handles the first two steps so you're not doing them by hand.
Fetch
Clients almost never all use the same channel, so Legal Beagle doesn't force one. A client can upload through their own portal, follow a one-time magic link sent for that specific matter, reply to an email, or send a document by text — whichever is easiest for them, all landing in the same place for you.
Identify
Every upload gets matched against the document checklist for that matter's practice area — a pay stub is recognized as a pay stub, a W-2 as a W-2 — instead of piling up as an undifferentiated "document" you have to open one by one to figure out what it is.
Extraction runs on our own dedicated infrastructure, never a public AI vendor — see Security.
Reconcile
A live checklist replaces the email-thread guesswork of "did I actually get the bank statement I asked for three weeks ago?" Every requested item sits in one of four states, always visible at a glance:
"Reviewed, excluded" is deliberately its own state — it means you looked at something and decided it doesn't belong in the draft, not that it was overlooked.
File-ready
Once the checklist is reconciled, a practice-area-specific summary drafts itself from what's actually been received. Every draft carries a persistent label — attorney review and signature required — and nothing in this system files, submits, or e-signs anything. That step happens outside it, by you, through the tools you already file through.
